| Background: Dr. Larson is a native Utahn. He and his wife Rebecca are the parents of five daughters and four sons. He is also a grandfather. As a sociologist, Dr. Larson has an extensive teaching and research background. He has taught over twenty different courses in sociology, education, and family studies. His research interests are varied and include social demographics correlates, culture and behavior, religion, and gender issues. Dr. Larson comes to CEU San Juan Campus from a background in continuing education administration. His motivation in coming here is the students. Dr. Larson has been active in his community.
He has been a High Councilor and a Bishop in the LDS Church, a Boy Scout
leader, and participated in many civic and professional groups. He is
currently on the executive board of the Blanding, Utah Chamber of Commerce;
Blanding Lion's Club; the Utah Association of Adult, Community, and Continuing
Education; the Eastern Region Workforce Services Council; the Southeast
Utah Division of Child and Family Services Quality and Improvement Committee;
the San Juan District Committee of the Boy Scouts of America; and counselor
in the Stake Young Men of the Blanding, Utah LDS Stake. |
